 The nursery will take enforcement action against any persons who is non-compliant
and this may take the form of disciplinary action for employees, or possible fixed
penalty fine or criminal prosecution for other individuals.
 This policy also applies to electronic cigarettes.

The objectives of this policy are to:
 Protect all children, parents and carers, employees and visitors from exposure to
second hand smoke and vapour in and around our Nursery.
 Support those employees and parents who are smokers and wish to stop smoking
and proactively promote a smoke free agenda.

Implementing the Policy

Responsibility for implementing this policy rests with management.

Job advertisement’s will include reference to the smoke free policy and indicate that
adherence to it will form part of the contract of employment.
