Sun Protection Policy
At Felicity's Fledglings we are dedicated to safety in the sun. We understand how quickly
and easily children and adults can burn, but we also want the children to enjoy the sun in a
safe way.
In order to do this, we will educate all staff and children.
It is important that all children learn the importance of keeping safe in the sun and this will
be discussed during the sessions in the hot summer months. Stories will be read about
this and activities geared towards reinforcing this fact will be planned.
Staff will attend any sun protection training that becomes available.
Protection
The children will spend more time outside before 11am and after 3pm.
We will encourage all children to wear a sunhat when outside
Parents are asked to provide a clearly marked bottle of sun cream and sun hat to keep at
Nursery.
Gloves will be used for each individual application of Suncream.
The Nursery will provide hats for children if they are without one. Sun cream will not be
provided by the nursery unless in an emergency.
