Physical punishment such as smacking will never be used or threatened.
Children will never be sent out of the room by themselves
When unacceptable behaviour occurs, the child will be removed from the situation and
given something positive to do for a short period of time 1-2 minutes.
Recurring problems will be tackled by the whole Nursery, in partnership with the child’s
parents.
All staff will be aware that some kinds of behaviour may arise from a child’s special needs.
It is the responsibility of the staff to ensure that any behaviour concerns are bought to the
attention of the Nursery Manager.
Felicity Sluman is responsible for behaviour management issues.

Policy for the Expected Behaviour of Parents, Carer's and visitors to the Nursery
Felicity's Fledglings will not tolerate violence and aggression towards staff or others.
We will act to ensure it remains a safe place for children, staff and all
other members of the community.
Felicity's Fledglings is committed to promoting a safe and healthy workplace culture and will
take a positive approach towards tackling the problem of aggression or violence in the
workplace. Violence at work is deemed to be any incident in which a person is abused,
intimidated, threatened or assaulted while carrying out their duties at work.
Violence and aggression towards our staff or children is unacceptable. Staff have the
right o expect a safe and secure workplace. Felicity's Fledglings will do their utmost to
prevent staff from being assaulted or abused in the course of their work.
We will not tolerate violence, threats of violence or abusive, intimidating language towards
our staff, visitors and children. We will work with the police and other agencies to
use existing legal remedies against any such instances and this may lead to prosecution.
