· The requirements of the statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation stage (EYFs)
2017
· The regulations of the Health and safety at work Act 1974 and any other relevant
legislation such as Control of substances Hazardous to Health Regulation (COsHH)
· Any guidance provided by the Public Health England, the local health protection agency,
the local authority environmental health department, fire authority or the health and safety
executive.
Named Staff
The Overall and final responsibility for health and safety is that of Felicity Sluman (Owner
manager)
Day to day responsibility for ensuring this policy is put into practise is delegated to Felicity,
Chloe (Manager) & Kelly (Deputy Manager) OR ROOM SENIORS.
Risk Assessments will be undertaken by ROOM SENIORS.
The findings of the risk assessments will be reported to Felicity
Action required to remove/control risks will be approved by Felicity, Chloe & Kelly.
The person responsible for ensuring the action required is implemented with be Chloe/Kelly
The person who will check that the implemented actions have been removed/reduced the
risks will be Felicity
Assessments will be reviewed every MONTH, or when the activity changes, whichever is
soonest.
Our programme for Risk Assessment include:
· Falls from a height
· COSHH
· Outside play areas
· High risk food preparation areas including;
o Cross contamination
o Food handling
o Stock rotation etc
Information, instruction and supervision
The health and safety law “What you need to know” poster is displayed in reception. Health
and safety advice is available from Felicity Sluman.
Supervision of young workers/ trainees will be arranged/undertaken/monitored by
Felicity/Chloe.
The person responsible for ensuring that our employees working at locations under the
control of other employers, are given relevant health and safety information is Felicity
Sluman.
All employees must:
1. Co-operate with supervisors and managers on health and safety matters
2. Not interfere with anything provided to safeguard their health and safety
3. So far as is reasonably practicable safeguard the safety and welfare of these persons who
they are supervising
4. Take reasonable care of their own health and safety and detailed in this policy
Competency for task and training
Induction training will be provided for all employees by Chloe/Felicity
Job specific training will be provided by Felicity/Chloe
Specific jobs are requiring special training are:
· First aiders
